SJVN Green Energy, a power generation subsidiary of Shimla-based Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam (SJVN), has recently increased operational capacity at its 1 GW Bikaner solar asset to 320 MW by commissioning an additional 78.23 MW. The initial phase, totaling 241.77 MW has become operational in April 2025, with the remaining capacity set for completion by the Q3 of 2025. This solar asset is being developed as part of the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy’s CPSU Scheme Phase II, Tranche III. The project adheres to Domestic Content Requirement norms, mandating the use of India-manufactured modules and components. SJVN Green Energy reports that electricity generated by the portfolio will be supplied to Rajasthan, Jammu & Kashmir, and Uttarakhand. SJVN has aligned this facility with India’s national 500 GW non-fossil fuel target and its own 2030 goal of 25,000 MW installed capacity.
