SJVN Limited, a government-owned power company based in Shimla announced on September 30 that it has commissioned 128.88 MW of solar capacity on its under-construction Bikaner Solar Power Project in Rajasthan. The plant, which has a total planned capacity of 1 GW, has been advancing in stages since the initial commissioning operations commenced. With this new addition, the overall operational capacity of Bikaner project has become 629.90 MW, with the other sections still under construction as of the reporting date. SJVN reported that previous stages of the project were progressively grid-connected and the present update represented progress without indicating future commissioning dates.
