United Power, headquartered in Colorado, has signed a PPA for the 150 MW Byers Solar Farm. Located in Adams County, 10 miles northeast of Byers, the project has been developed with Silicon Ranch, headquartered in Tennessee. This marks the fifth collaboration between United Power and Silicon Ranch since 2014. Silicon Ranch will build, own, and operate the facility, while United Power will purchase all electricity generated. Environmental initiatives include planting short grass prairie before construction and exploring managed sheep grazing through the Regenerative Energy program. The Byers Solar Farm aligns with United Power’s strategy to diversify its power portfolio after exiting its wholesale power contract on May 1, 2024. Construction timelines and operational details are yet to be finalized.
