India-headquartered Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI) has signed a MoU with the Government of Madhya Pradesh to develop a 200 MW solar project in Dhar and a 1000 MWh battery storage project. The agreement was signed at the Global Investors Summit 2025 in Bhopal on February 24-25, 2025. In 2023, a 500 MW project deal was signed with MP Power Management Company Limited. That deal includes a 200 MW solar project and a 25-year power supply contract. SECI planned to invest INR 2500 crore (~$286.75 million) in stages for solar and storage projects.
