India-based SAEL Industries has made agreement to two power purchase agreements for a total of 880 MW of solar capacity in Gujarat and Punjab. In Gujarat, Saran Agricultural Enterprises Limited (SAEL)'s subsidiaries, SAEL Solar P Sixteen and SAEL Solar P Seventeen also signed an agreement with Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd (GUVNL).The agreement is made for 480 MW AC capacity, consisting of 240 MW from the original allocation and an additional 240 MW awarded under the greenshoe option. The agreed tariff for the supply is INR 2.56(~ $0.031) per kilowatt-hour over a 25-year period. In Punjab, SAEL Solar P15 Private signed a PPA with Punjab State Power Corporation Ltd (PSPCL) for a 400 MW AC project, with a tariff set at INR 2.97(~ $0.036) per kWh for 25 years. Both agreements require the projects to be completed and commissioned within 24 months from the date of signing.
