RWE, a Germany-headquartered renewable energy developer and operator, has finished construction of the 100 MW Lafitte Solar project in Ouachita Parish. The facility is scheduled to be fully operational by this year end and supply electricity to the Louisiana grid under a long-term PPA with Meta.  RWE stated that construction was carried out with McCarthy Building Companies. The project design includes native vegetation and the use of sheep for vegetation management, which supports continued agricultural use on and around the site. RWE stated the project created more than 150 construction jobs and is expected to generate regional tax revenue over its operating life for public services.
