RWE commissions 86 MW Ashwood Solar project in Kentucky

German multinational energy company, RWE has commissioned its first solar project in Kentucky, the 86 MW Ashwood Solar facility located in Lyon County. Developed initially by Open Road Renewables and Eolian, the project will supply electricity to over 15,000 households through a 20-year power purchase agreement with the Kentucky Municipal Energy Agency (KYMEA). The project created 250 local jobs during construction and is expected to contribute $6 million in state property tax revenue over its lifetime. Ashwood Solar adds to RWE’s 11 GW of U.S. energy assets, supporting local energy supply and economic growth.
