Reliance NU Energies, a unit of Reliance Power, has been issued a letter of award by SJVN to build a 350 MW solar power facility and an 175 MW/700 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS). The hybrid project was bid for through a competitive auction at a fixed tariff of ₹3.33/kWh for 25 years. It is part of SJVN's bigger tender for 1,200 MW of solar and 600 MW/2,400 MWh of BESS, which garnered bids from 19 developers, out of which 18 made it to the final e-reverse auction. The tender has been oversubscribed by over four times. On commissioning, the project will contribute 600 MW DC solar and 700 MWh BESS capacity to Reliance Power's portfolio, boosting its clean energy pipeline to 2.4 GW DC solar and in excess of 2.5 GWh BESS capacity.
