India-based Reliance Infrastructure has received a Letter of Award from NHPC for a 390 MW interstate transmission system–connected solar power project. The project is combined with a 780 MWh battery energy storage system at a tariff of INR 3.13 (~ $0.034) per kWh. Once commissioned, it will add 700 MWp of solar DC capacity and 780 MWh of BESS to the Reliance Group portfolio, raising its pipeline to over 3 GWp of solar and 3.5 GWh of storage, the largest in India’s integrated solar plus storage segment. The project is part of NHPC’s 1,200 MW solar and 600 MW/2,400 MWh BESS tender, which was oversubscribed by nearly four times, drawing 15 participants, of which 14 qualified for the e-reverse auction.
