Reliance Industries commissions 10 GW solar line at Jamnagar

Reliance Industries has commissioned its first solar panel manufacturing line at Jamnagar, Gujarat, as part of its USD 10 billion renewable energy plan announced in 2021. The company is also advancing its battery storage production targeting 30 GWh capacity and building green hydrogen and biogas facilities. Reliance aims to support India’s 500 GW renewable energy goal by 2030 and achieve net-zero emissions by 2035. The company solar module manufacturing capacity is initially 10 GW per year, expandable to 20 GW, with integrated facilities for electrolysers and semiconductors under construction. The projects, leverage technology from REC Group, and are spread across Jamnagar and Kandla in Gujarat.
