Recurrent Energy, a subsidiary of Canadian Solar Inc., has signed a PPA with Qualcomm Incorporated to provide clean energy for an unrevealed capacity. The Spain-based unnamed PV project under the PPA, is expected to generate 50,000 MWh of electricity annually, supplying power for around 15,000 households and offsetting 8,000 tons of CO₂ emissions annually. As per Recurrent Energy, the project will contribute to local economic development by creating over 300 construction jobs and providing specialized training for long-term employment. Recurrent Energy will retain ownership and operational control once the project is complete. Recurrent Energy stated that the PPA was facilitated by Trio, formerly known as Altenex Energy, a sustainability and energy advisory firm that assisted in structuring the agreement.
