Reactivate, a Chicago-based renewable energy developer, has signed a lease agreement with Link Logistics, a US-based logistics real estate company, to install rooftop solar systems across selected logistics properties nationwide. Reactivate has agreed to develop, own, and operate the systems, which are intended to reduce energy costs and improve grid stability. According to Reactivate, the installations are expected to serve households, non-profits, institutions, and businesses, while supporting job creation and workforce training in host communities. The initiative is leveraging Link Logistics’ 500 million square feet of real estate located near major load centers. As per NREL, large rooftops in the United States have over 185.6 TWh of solar potential, which is enough to power 19 million homes. Reactivate has confirmed that the agreement is aligned with its goal to deploy more than 3 GW of solar capacity by 2030.
