UK-headquartered ContourGlobal has acquired a 446 MW solar PV portfolio from Qcells, comprising two projects in Colorado and Virginia. The Colorado project, totaling 324 MW, is under construction with operations beginning in 2025, while the 122 MW Virginia project is set to start construction in 2026. Both projects are backed by long-term PPAs and will use solar panels manufactured at Qcells’ US facilities in Georgia. The projects will generate over 845 GWh annually, enough to power 80,000 households. This acquisition increases ContourGlobal’s US renewable capacity to 1.5 GW, including solar PV and BESS assets. Qcells will oversee construction, EPC, and O&M services.
