Prime Minister Narendra Modi has recently inaugurated Avaada Group’s 280 MW solar project in Surendranagar, Gujarat. The installation spans 1,170 acres in Tavi and Varsani villages with an estimated cost of INR 1,500 crore (~ $180 million). Power from the project is being supplied to Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd, with annual reductions of about 595,857 tons of CO₂ emissions and water savings of 112 lakh litres through robotic cleaning systems. During the same event, Modi laid the foundation stone for a 100 MW solar project in Vadodara district, planned across 350 acres with an investment of INR 400 crore (~ $48 million) and scheduled for commissioning by April 2026. This project is expected to cut around 212,806 tons of CO₂ annually and save about 40 lakh litres of water.
