Hecate Energy has selected PEC Construction Management to manage construction of Sunfish Solar 2, a major solar project in Calhoun County, Michigan. This facility is the first in Hecate’s 1 GW solar portfolio in the state and will eventually power around 69,000 homes. Built under a transfer agreement with Consumers Energy, the project supports the utility’s target of bringing 8,000 MW of solar energy online by 2040. Once operational, the energy generated will serve both residential and commercial customers enrolled in Consumers Energy’s voluntary Renewable Energy Program. Construction is underway, with PEC now deploying its on-site team to manage the build, assess risks, and ensure smooth execution.
