Singapore-based Olam Agri, a global leader in food and agri-trade, partnered with Husk Power Systems to deploy a 1.3 MW solar PV system integrated with 860 kWh battery storage. The system is being installed at Olam’s rice facility in Rukubi, Nasarawa State, to reduce diesel reliance and enhance energy reliability. The commercial and industrial (C&I) hybrid project, backed by a 10-year power purchase agreement, aimed to reduce diesel dependence, enhance power stability, and lower carbon emissions. Announced as part of a broader clean energy transition in Nigeria’s rice-producing region, the initiative supported agricultural operations with sustainable energy infrastructure.
