Oil India Limited (OIL), a government-owned company involved in oil and gas exploration and production, has recently executed a joint venture agreement with Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited (RVUNL), a government-owned power generating company, for development of renewable energy deployments, both being India-based companies. According to Oil India, the agreement involves establishing 1 GW of solar and 200 MW of wind in RVUNL's Renewable Energy Park. The joint venture company intends to pool together Oil India’s energy development experience and RVUNL’s project expertise to deliver electricity to distribution companies and commercial customers. Senior officials from both companies signed the agreement in September 2025, and officials from the Rajasthan state energy department were present at the signing event.
