Texas-based OCI Energy and Arava Power from Israel partnered to develop Project SunRoper, a 260 MW (AC) solar farm in Wharton County, Texas. The project is located 60 miles southwest of Houston, the project aimed to support high electricity demand in the region. Construction was planned for 2025. This was their second collaboration, following Arava Power’s 2021 acquisition of OCI Energy’s 200 MW (AC) Project SunRay, which became operational in September 2024. The joint venture focused on strengthening Texas’ energy supply, creating jobs, and providing reliable clean power. Legal counsel for the transaction included Sidley Austin LLP for OCI Energy and Norton Rose Fulbright for Arava Power.
