India-based NTPC Renewable Energy (NTPC REL), a subsidiary of NTPC Green Energy (NGEL), secured 300MW capacity in an e-reverse auction conducted by NHPC. The auction aimed to select solar power developers for setting up 1200MW ISTS-connected solar power projects. It included 600MW/1200MWh Energy Storage Systems (ESS) under tariff-based competitive bidding.NTPC REL won the bid at a tariff of ₹3.09/kWh and will include a 150MW/300MWh ESS as per the Request for Selection (RFS) conditions. The project is part of NHPC's initiative for nationwide solar power development. NTPC REL awaits the Letter of Award (LOA) from NHPC.
