NTPC Ltd, a New Delhi–headquartered power generation company under India’s Ministry of Power, has announced the start of commercial operations for 167 MW capacity at Plot 1 of the Nokh Solar Project in Rajasthan effective September 26, 2025. According to NTPC, the capacity has been declared operational after successful commissioning, marking part of the 245 MW planned capacity at the site, which is one of three plots of 245 MW each in the Nokh Solar PV Project. With this addition, NTPC’s total installed and commercial capacity has increased to 60.705 GW on a standalone basis and 83,863 MW on a group basis, strengthening its position as India’s largest electricity generator. NTPC has continued expanding renewable assets while meeting approximately one-fourth of the country’s total electricity demand through its diversified energy portfolio.
