PWP names final bidders for Ibri III Solar IPP in Oman

Masdar, Acwa Power, EDF Renewables, and Sembcorp Utilities were shortlisted by Nama Power for the 500 MW Ibri III Solar IPP in Oman, set for completion in 2027.

Nama Power and Water Procurement Company (PWP) in Oman shortlisted four utility firms for the 500 MW Ibri III Solar IPP. These firms were Masdar, Acwa Power, EDF Renewables, and Sembcorp Utilities. PWP received 12 bids in response to its request for qualification. Nine developers from Oman, UAE, Saudi Arabia, China, South Korea, Singapore, France, and Japan were conditionally or unconditionally qualified. The project, planned next to the 500 MW Ibri II facility in Al Dhahirah, had a total investment of OMR 155 million ($402.6 million). Masdar, Acwa Power, and EDF Renewables submitted bids with consortium partners. Sembcorp Utilities bid independently. The final bids include a Masdar-led group with Korea Midland Power and Al Khadra Partners. Acwa Power partnered with TotalEnergies. EDF Renewables joined with Korean Western Power. Sembcorp Utilities submitted its own bid. The project was planned for completion in Q1 2027.
