Switzerland-based integrated energy company, MET Group has commissioned an 11.5 MW solar power plant in Kentzlin, located in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Germany. The project was acquired in 2023 and was developed under the EEG tender scheme. The facility is expected to generate around 13 GWh of electricity annually, which is estimated to meet the needs of approximately 3,600 households. IBC SOLAR is responsible for engineering, procurement, and construction. The plant has completed all necessary development phases, including permitting, construction, and grid connection, and is now in commercial operation. This is MET Group’s first operational renewable energy asset in Germany, where MET Group is already active in natural gas, electricity supply, LNG imports, and underground gas storage. The Kentzlin project is part of MET Group’s move to extend its energy activities into the German renewables sector within the existing regulatory framework.
