Germany-based construction company, Vogel-Bau GmbH has installed a 7.5 MW floating solar plant on Waldmattensee in Lahr, Germany. It is developed with M/R Energiesysteme using 13,000 LONGi modules across 750 floating platforms. The electricity generated is used for Vogel-Bau GmbH’s operations, with surplus power fed into the public grid. M/R Energiesysteme described the construction as technically challenging but aligned with project goals. The installation is situated near a public swimming area, demonstrating safe coexistence with recreational spaces. The system has been operating steadily since commissioning.
