Emerging Power, Inc. (EPI), a Philippines-based renewable energy developer and subsidiary of Nickel Asia Corporation, expected to end 2025 with around 300 MW installed capacity. This will be supported by the planned Q4 2025 energization of the 120 MW Phase 1 San Isidro, Leyte solar project under Greenlight Renewables Holdings, EPI’s joint venture with Shell Overseas Investments. In the same quarter, EPI plans to begin construction of the 45 MW Phase 1 Botolan solar project in Zambales, targeting commercial operations in the second half of 2026. The 145 MW Subic-Cawag solar project, under a wholly owned EPI subsidiary, is scheduled for late 2026 energization. Pre-development for the 50 MW Nazareno solar project in Bataan is underway, with construction expected before the end of 2025. EPI’s subsidiary, Jobin SQM, Inc., recorded an 8% year-on-year generation increase to 127,030 MWh. Despite higher output, EBITDA dropped 12% to ₱460 million(~ $8.06 million)due to lower Wholesale Electricity Spot Market prices, partly offset by long-term Power Supply Agreements.
EPI targets 300 MWp capacity with Leyte Phase 1 solar launch
By late 2025, energization of Leyte Phase 1 under Emerging Power, Inc.’s joint venture with Shell was expected to boost installed capacity to around 300 MW.
