UAE-based Masdar, in partnership with Emirate Water and Electricity Company (EWEC), is advancing the world’s first 24/7 solar PV and battery storage gigascale project in Abu Dhabi. Announced during Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week, the project is designed to deliver up to 1 GW of baseload power continuously. The renewables business vertical of L&T has been selected as one of the preferred Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contractors for the project’s north site. This initiative aims to ensure a reliable and consistent power supply by integrating large-scale solar energy with battery storage systems, setting a significant milestone in renewable energy technology.
