KPI Green Energy Limited, headquartered in India, has signed an INR 1,311.40 crore (~ $51.48 million) contract with Coal India Limited to develop a 300 MW grid-connected PV plant in Gujarat’s Khavda region. The project will be installed at GIPCL’s Solar Park and includes operation and maintenance services for five years, with completion expected by November 2025. This ground-mounted solar project aligns with Coal India’s renewable energy expansion strategy and supports KPI Green Energy’s goal of reaching 10 GW capacity by 2030. The initiative reflects the increasing investment of fossil fuel companies like Coal India in renewable infrastructure as part of India's energy transition efforts.
