Kaduna Electric signs 100 MW solar MoU with ASI and J-Marine

A 100 MW solar project with battery storage was agreed under a MoU signed by Kaduna Electric, ASI Engineering, and J-Marine to serve four Nigerian states.

Kaduna Electric, a Nigeria-based electricity distribution company headquartered in Kaduna, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with ASI Engineering and J-Marine Logistics Limited on May 23, 2025. The deal is for a 100 MW solar project with a BESS and scheduled within the Kaduna Electric franchise region. The project, says Kaduna Electric, is expected to enhance the supply of electricity in Sokoto, Kebbi, Zamfara, and Kaduna states. ASI Engineering and J-Marine Logistics, which are both Nigeria-based, have been named as implementation partners for the initiative. Kaduna Electric was created as one of 18 successor companies when the National Electric Power Authority was unbundled into the Power Holding Company of Nigeria.
