JA Solar, a China-based manufacturer of PV modules, has signed two supply agreements with JUWI Renewable Energies, a South Africa-based subsidiary of Germany’s JUWI Group. According to JA Solar, the agreements cover the 100 MW Sonvanger Solar Plant and the 120 MW Paarde Valley PV2 project, developed for industrial users including Glencore, Sasol, and Air Liquide. Nearly 420,000 DeepBlue 4.0 Pro modules will be supplied for the projects, which are scheduled to be completed by the end of 2026. As per JUWI Renewable Energies, the plants are expected to generate about 672,000 MWh annually and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 625,000 tons. These projects form part of South Africa’s plan to add 30 GW of renewable capacity by 2030, with JUWI providing turnkey EPC and long-term O\&M services.
