India-headquartered Juniper Green Energy, an independent renewable energy producer, has commissioned a 100 MW solar power project in Rajasthan to supply electricity to Bhutan. Under a cross-border agreement, Bhutan would receive 50 percent of the power generated during winter. This allowed Bhutan to directly import power from an Indian generator under a bilateral trade framework. Juniper Green Energy has a renewable energy portfolio of 1.1 GW, including solar, wind, and hybrid projects. It is part of Singapore-based AT Group, which invests in renewable energy, real estate, and hospitality.
