Jindal India Renewable Energy (JIRE), part of BC Jindal Group, has secured a 300 MW solar-plus-storage project from SJVN under its 1,200 MW ISTS tender at ₹3.32/kWh (~ $0.04/kWh). The build-own-operate project must be completed within 24 months of the PPA signing. As per tender terms, JIRE must deploy a minimum 0.5 MW/2 MWh battery system per MW of contracted capacity. The 25-year agreement is intended to supply power to state utilities. JIRE also recently received a similar 300 MW project from NHPC and plans to invest $2.5 billion in renewables, including a 2 GW solar cell and module plant in Maharashtra.
