JERA Cross Co., a Tokyo-based subsidiary of JERA, has signed a corporate PPA with Nozomi Energy for specified wholesale electricity supply, which is backed by Actis. According to JERA Cross, the agreement sources electricity from Nozomi’s Project Maki solar plant, a 24 MW DC FIT facility in Chiba Prefecture commissioned in 2019, and enables 24/7 carbon-free supply using hourly matching. The company said that real-time tracking of generation and consumption is used to align supply with demand transparently. The agreement builds on JERA Cross’s earlier milestone in zero-emission hydrogen thermal power announced in November 2024. Executives from JERA, Nozomi, and Actis stated that the project promotes a flexible, data-driven approach to delivering reliable and economically viable clean electricity across Japan.
