Jakson Engineers, part of Noida-headquartered Jakson Group which provides energy and infrastructure solutions, has announced plans to invest over INR 8,000 crore (~ $960 million) to establish a 6 GW integrated solar manufacturing facility in Madhya Pradesh. According to Jakson Engineers, the project will be built on a 110-acre site at Maksi Phase II and developed in two phases. Phase I, with an investment of about INR 2,000 crore (~ $240 million), is scheduled to commission 3 GW of solar modules and 3 GW of solar cells, with first output expected by May 2026. Phase II, requiring over INR 6,000 crore (~ $720 million), will add 6 GW of wafer capacity and an additional 3 GW each of modules and cells. The company said the project will create significant employment and enhance India’s integrated solar manufacturing capabilities.
