JA Solar, China-based PV module manufacturer, has succesfully completed the 550 MW Loc Ninh Solar Power Project in Binh Phuoc Province, Vietnam. According to JA Solar, the facility has decreased more than 800,000 tonnes of Carbondioxide emissions per year. The project has become a significant contributor for Vietnam’s renewable energy mix and explainsthe country’s continued expansion of utility-scale solar capacity for meeting rising clean energy demand. The facility was constructed within six months time period and has entered into commercial operation in December 2020. It has produced about 800 million kWh of electricity annually, improving grid reliability and addressing local power shortages.
