Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) and Rajasthan Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited (RVUNL) have partnered to develop a 500 MW solar power plant in Bikaner, Rajasthan. IGL will invest ₹2,066 crore in this project as part of its clean energy strategy.. The project will be developed through a joint venture, with IGL holding a 74 percent stake and RVUNL owning the remaining 26 percent. RVUNL will provide land at its upcoming solar park in Bikaner and assist with transmission infrastructure. The project is scheduled for completion within 18 months from the finalisation of the joint venture. It is part of IGL’s plan to add 1 GW of renewable energy capacity over two to four years while continuing its city gas distribution operations.
