India’s renewable energy capacity grew from 75.52 GW to 232 GW over a decade. Solar and wind saw the largest increases, while biopower also expanded. The number of Compressed Biogas (CBG) projects rose significantly, alongside notable progress in domestic solar module, cell, and wafer manufacturing. Integrated solar production capacity also advanced. Recently, the country added 25 GW of new renewable capacity, reflecting a notable annual increase. To support future growth, four key implementing agencies issued around 44 GW in renewable energy tenders for FY 2024–25.
