PowerChina New Energy Group, headquartered in Beijing, has been developing China’s first offshore pile-based solar-plus-fishery project near Aoshan Bay in Jimo District, Qingdao. The 1.15 GW site is divided into two phases of 600 MW and 550 MW and integrates PV power generation with aquaculture. According to PowerChina, the project is expected to generate 1.92 billion kWh annually and bring in approximately $100 million in annual revenue. Huasun Energy said it is supplying 814.9 MW of V-Ocean heterojunction (HJT) modules specifically designed for offshore conditions. These modules are built with composite membrane frames, double-glass encapsulation, and butyl edge seals to prevent moisture ingress. As per Huasun, the V-Ocean modules deliver up to 750 W output with 24.16% efficiency. Grid connection is planned for April 2025, with 1.07 billion kWh output expected.
