Haryana’s Energy Minister Anil Vij said that the state has already installed over 2.1 GW of solar capacity and is expanding rooftop adoption across homes, industries, and institutions. According to Vij, more than 1.65 lakh solar irrigation pumps have been distributed under the PM-KUSUM scheme, supporting farmers in reducing costs while cutting emissions. Haryana has also implemented projects such as a 10 MW solar plant at Panipat, over 448 MW of ground-mounted installations, and sanctioned 13 solar parks, with Panchkula declared a Model Solar City. During a meeting in Ambala, Vij discussed collaboration with Sunsmart Solar Power Technology Inc., a Philippines-based solar company, and ANPM, a UAE-based energy firm, where potential investment of ₹1,000 crore was highlighted for decentralized micro-grid projects in villages.
