UK-based Harmony Energy Limited and Clarus company and First Renewables have secured funding and approvals for the 202 MW Tauhei Solar Farm, set to begin construction this year. Expected to be New Zealand’s largest solar farm by 2026, it will generate enough power for 35,000 homes. Elecnor built the project, creating jobs and supporting sheep farming. Meridian Energy secured a 10-year output deal. The farm connected to the grid and planted 120,000 native plants. Harmony Energy developed nine more solar projects.
