Germany-based GLP Clean Energy, the renewable energy division of GLP in Europe, has begun installing large-scale rooftop solar projects in Germany in early 2025. Ten projects were planned and were expected to be completed by the end of the year. Two projects commenced in Mannheim (1.4 MW) and Frankfurt West (2.8 MW), followed by an installation in Schifferstadt (1.9 MW) with 4,442 solar modules covering an area equal to three football fields. The rooftop featured both solar panels and green roofing to support cooling and biodiversity. Across all projects, the total capacity reached 23 MW. Several PPAs were finalized with building occupiers, while others remained under discussion. The goal of these projects was to deliver affordable and reliable solar power. To meet the EU’s 45% renewable energy target by 2030, real estate developers were encouraged to adopt more clean energy solutions. GLP collaborated with MaxSolar, Energy Partners, and Greenvolt Group to complete the installations.Â
