Gamuda, a Malaysian construction group, and clean energy provider Gentari have partnered to develop about 1.5 GW of renewable energy capacity for the country’s data centre sector. Gamuda Energy and Gentari Renewables,by their subsidiaries will implement large-scale solar PV projects combined with battery energy storage systems to provide stable power supply. The partnership follows projections that Malaysia’s hyperscale data centres requires over 5 GW of electricity by 2035. The planned projects aim to address this rising demand by adding significant renewable capacity to the national energy mix.
