US-based GameChange Solar has announced the release of FlexRail, a new mounting system developed to address the frequent disruptions caused by volatile solar module supplies. FlexRail was designed to allow a single tracker design to accommodate different PV modules with minimal disruption, enabling projects to continue without schedule or cost overruns.Module availability in the utility-scale solar sector has been affected by tariffs, logistics delays, and global market fluctuations, often forcing project developers to undertake costly redesigns or field modifications when modules change after trackers are manufactured or installed The system incorporates features such as clamp-based rail structures, flexible purlins, unpunched torque tubes, and low-profile bearings, which improve adaptability during installation. These elements were examined in the company’s latest white paper, “Module Flexibility for Single-Axis Trackers,” which analyzed design approaches that increase resilience against module supply changes and provided practical insights for developers, EPCs, engineers, and investors.
