Fotowatio Renewable Ventures (FRV) Australia, has acquired the Axedale project from ACEN Australia Pty Ltd, a renewable energy developer, owner, and operator in Australia. The hybrid installation integrates photovoltaic (PV) solar generation with a battery energy storage system (BESS) in Victoria. Located 20 km east of Bendigo, the project will have a generation capacity of 140 MW (AC) of PV solar energy and a 50 MW/100 MWh battery storage system, capable of two hours of operation. It is expected to generate approximately 369,459 MWh annually, supplying power to around 80,000 homes in Victoria. The project is nearing completion of permitting and has executed a connection agreement with AusNet and AEMO in December last year, but construction completion has not yet been confirmed. Baker & McKenzie advised FRV on the acquisition, which was completed without external financing.
