Evren, a joint venture between Brookfield and Axis Energy, has signed a 300 MW power purchase agreement with NTPC for firm and dispatchable renewable energy. The agreement involves developing nearly 1 GW of hybrid capacity, to support consistent energy delivery during peak demand periods. The project is expected to help distribution companies meet both clean energy demand and regulatory obligations related to renewable energy and energy storage. Evren’s portfolio includes more than 11 GW of renewable energy assets, with 7 GW in advanced development stages across India. The agreement follows NTPC’s efforts to secure dependable renewable sources through hybrid energy tenders that combine generation with storage, enabling better load management across the grid.
