EnBW, a Germany-based energy company, has commissioned an 80 MW solar park in Langenenslingen-Wilflingen, Biberach district, southwest Germany. The project was built across 80 hectares and includes 146,016 solar modules capable of supplying electricity to around 30,000 households each year. Construction was completed in about one year, on time and within budget, without using any state funding. Electricity is transmitted to the regional 110-kV grid through EnBW’s substation located four kilometers away in Beuren. Planning began in 2019, with land secured in 2020 and permits granted by mid-2023 with full municipal support. According to EnBW, the project included environmental measures such as preserving orchards, planting vegetation, and creating 30 ponds for amphibians. SolNet was involved in land acquisition and planning. The park is expected to reduce 60,000 metric tons of CO₂ emissions annually.
