EDP Renewables North America (EDPR NA) has launched the 100 MW Ragsdale Solar Park in Madison County, Mississippi. The solar facility, which became operational in late Q4 2024, will supply power to Entergy Mississippi’s transmission system through a 15-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with Amazon. The project is expected to provide economic benefits to the local community. It will include $34.6 million in tax revenue and $15 million in lease payments to landowners. Over 100 workers were involved in its construction. Three full-time positions will be created for ongoing operations. The project will conserve over 127 million gallons of water annually. It will also recycle damaged panels through SOLARCYCLE®. This is EDPR NA’s second utility-scale solar project in Mississippi. It follows the 175 MW Pearl River Solar Park.
