US renewable energy developer, EDF Renewables North America has closed financing for the Desert Quartzite Solar+Storage hybrid project in California. According to EDF Renewables, the portfolio has 375 MW DC of solar capacity and a 150 MW AC, four-hour battery system. The project was developed with Power Sustainable Energy Infrastructure Inc. and began delivering electricity in December 2024. The Riverside County project is being supplied under a 20-year PPA with Clean Power Alliance. The portfolio is expected to power around 163,000 homes and reduce carbon emissions by 669,000 metric tons annually. Financing was provided by KfW IPEX-Bank, MUFG Bank Ltd, Export Development Canada, Korea Development Bank, and others. EDF Renewables said this was its first US leveraged financing in over a decade.
