Spain-based Ecoener , multinational has secured $43.1 million from Proparco. The funding is for developing the Payita 1 photovoltaic plant in María Trinidad Sánchez, Dominican Republic.The 60 MW plant is currently under construction. It has already secured a 15-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Edenorte. This agreement guarantees $142 million in revenue once the plant becomes operational. Proparco assessed its environmental, social, and technological aspects before approving the funding. Once operational, Payita 1 will generate 118.4 GWh annually, supplying 29,600 households, reducing CO₂ emissions by 64,173 tons, and cutting fossil fuel use by 10,182 tons per year. The investment expands Ecoener’s Dominican portfolio to 280 MW, including Payita 1, Payita 2, and Cumayasa 4. Ecoener, which recently expanded into Panama with a new 50 MW PV project,
