Duke Energy Florida files plan for four new PV sites, adding 300 MW

Four new solar sites planned by Duke Energy Florida involve a $521 million investment, each expected to generate 74.9 MW and power 23,000 homes by 2026.

Duke Energy Florida has filed its 2025 Solar Plan with state regulators. It planned to spend $521 million on four solar sites in Florida. These projects could save customers $843 million over time. Construction started on the Sundance, Half Moon, and Rattler Renewable Energy Centers. These sites were scheduled to be operational by January 2026. The Bailey Mill Renewable Energy Center was in the permitting stage, with construction planned for summer 2025. It was expected to come online by summer 2026. Each site would generate 74.9 MW, powering 23,000 homes. Duke Energy Florida aimed to reach 6,100 MW by 2033.
