Duke Energy Florida has completed its Clean Energy Connection program by expanding nearly 750 MW solar capacity across 10 utility-scale sites in Florida from 2022 to 2024. Each 74.9 MW plant is able to provide clean energy to approximately 23,000 homes. The portfolio has created 1,500 construction jobs and is anticipated to generate tax revenue for local communities, during operational phase. Spreadover multiple counties, the portfolio enables customers to voluntarily subscribe and earn credits on their electricity bills. Duke Energy Florida now operates more than 25 utility-scale solar sites with nearly 1,500 MW of generation capacity and plans to add 12 more between 2025 and 2027. The company targets an annual installation of at least 450 MW of utility-scale solar capacity over the next decade.
