US-based energy services company, DTE Energy has completed the 100 MW Polaris Solar Park in Washington and North Star Townships, Gratiot County, Michigan, marking its third new solar park of 2025. The project is expected to power over 23,000 homes and generate substantial tax revenue for local services such as roads, first responders, and libraries. It was funded through DTE’s MIGreenPower program, which has enrolled nearly 100,000 residential and 1,200 business customers. Polaris Solar joins previous renewable installations in the county, including three wind parks that contributed $42 million in tax revenue. In total, DTE’s renewable energy investments since 2009 have created approximately 20,000 jobs in Michigan, with the company aiming to power 6 million homes with clean energy by 2042.
